WHY ELECTRONICS & GAUGES FAIL AND HOW BD SOLVES IT

For truck owners who use their F-Series for work, our High Idle Controls are essential. They allow you to set a specific engine RPM for running power take-off (PTO) equipment, or simply to warm the engine and cabin faster on cold mornings. To improve the day-to-day driving experience, the TS Booster V3.0 plugs in to sharpen throttle response, reducing that 'dead pedal' feeling and making your truck feel more agile.

  • Slow Engine Warm-Up

In cold weather, idling at standard RPMs can take a long time to warm the engine and cabin.

    The BD Difference

A high idle control speeds up this process significantly.

  • Spongy or Delayed Throttle

Modern drive-by-wire systems can create a noticeable lag between pressing the accelerator and feeling the engine respond.

    The BD Difference

A throttle booster sharpens this response.

  • Premature Turbo Wear

Shutting down the engine when the turbo is still hot can cause oil to 'coke' or burn inside the bearings, leading to failure.

    The BD Difference

A cool down timer prevents this.

  • Lack of Key Data

The factory dashboard doesn't always show critical parameters like exhaust back pressure, leaving you guessing about your engine's health under load.

    The BD Difference

Our universal gauge kits, like the Exhaust Back Pressure Gauge, put critical engine data right on your dash.

What is a high idle control used for on my 6.7L Power Stroke?

A high idle control allows you to manually increase engine RPMs while parked. This is useful for faster engine warm-up, running PTO-driven accessories like welders or compressors, and maintaining battery voltage when using high-draw equipment.

Will the TS Booster add horsepower to my truck?

No, the TS Booster does not add horsepower. It modifies the throttle position sensor signal to make your truck's existing power feel more responsive and reduce pedal lag. It changes how quickly power is delivered, not how much power is made.

How does a Cool Down Timer protect my turbo?

After you turn off the ignition, the Cool Down Timer keeps the engine running for a set period. This allows engine oil to continue circulating through the hot turbocharger, gradually cooling it down and preventing oil from burning onto the bearings, which can cause premature failure.

Is installation of these electronics difficult?

Most of our electronic accessories, like the High Idle Control and TS Booster, are designed for plug-and-play installation using factory connectors, requiring minimal tools and no cutting of wires. Always refer to the specific product's installation manual.

My work truck needs to run a PTO. Which product do I need?

You need one of our High Idle Control kits. We have specific kits for 2017-2022 models and 2023+ models that provide precise RPM control necessary for stable PTO operation.

Are these electronics legal in all states?

The emissions compliance of electronic devices can vary. While many of our products in this category do not alter emissions, we recommend checking the emissions status on each individual product page to ensure compliance with your local regulations.
