The BD Diesel
Engineering Advantage

Overcoming OE Failure Points

Correcting factory fuel-system weaknesses to protect your Duramax. Heat-damaged electronics and aging CP4 components can lead to costly metal-debris contamination and fuel-system failure. BD re-engineers these components from the ground up using hardened internals, advanced coatings, and robust conversion kits to address known factory weak points for good.

Precision Micro-Inch Calibration

Eliminating dangerous cylinder-to-cylinder variations. Operating at pressures exceeding 26,000 PSI leaves zero room for error. Every BD injector and pump is matched to micro-inch tolerances and verified using automated, computer-controlled flow benches. This ensures balanced fuel delivery across all cylinders, helping prevent dropped cylinders, high EGTs, and premature engine failure.

Advanced Pressure Management

Maintaining consistent rail pressure under heavy loads. Aggressive tuning and demanding towing conditions can push factory fuel volume beyond its limits, causing dangerous pressure drops. Our engineered fuel components feature optimized internal sealing and upgraded plungers designed to maintain steady rail pressure, complete atomization, and immediate throttle response when your Silverado or Sierra HD needs it most.

Fuel System Selection Guide

  1. Define Your Duramax Generation and Fuel System

Before selecting components, identify your engine model year and Duramax generation. GM fuel systems vary significantly by application. The 2001–2004 LB7, 2004.5–2005 LLY, 2006–2007 LBZ, and 2007.5–2010 LMM use Bosch CP3 high-pressure common-rail systems. The 2011–2016 LML uses a Bosch CP4.2 pump, while the 2017+ L5P uses a Denso high-pressure fuel system.

  2. Establish Your Horsepower and Performance Goals

Determine whether you need direct stock replacements for dependable towing and daily driving or increased-flow components to support performance modifications. Stock-calibrated components restore factory fuel delivery and drivability, while performance injectors and upgraded pumps provide the additional fuel volume required for larger turbochargers, aggressive tuning, or higher horsepower targets.

  3. Match Injection-Pump Capacity to Injector Flow

Your high-pressure injection pump must be capable of supplying the fuel volume demanded by your injectors. Larger injectors may require an upgraded pump or dual-pump system to maintain commanded rail pressure under heavy load. Properly matching these components helps prevent rail-pressure drops, poor atomization, excessive exhaust gas temperatures, and reduced performance.

  4. Address Known Fuel-System Failure Points

Certain Duramax applications, particularly the 2011–2016 LML, may benefit from upgrades designed to address known CP4-related reliability concerns. Choose components appropriate for your engine generation and carefully consider how pump conversions or other modifications could affect installation requirements, tuning, warranty coverage, and emissions compliance.

  5. Verify Emissions and Street-Legal Compliance

Confirm that every component is approved for your intended application. Check product documentation for emissions compliance and CARB Executive Order status where required to ensure the completed fuel system remains legal for street use.

How Do I Choose The Right BD Fuel Parts For My Duramax?

Start with your engine and year range, then choose what you need: Injectors for replacement or performance goals, Install Kits And Lines to complete an injector job, or CP3 Pumps And Conversion Kits for reliable fuel supply and increased capability.

What Chevy/GM Applications Are Covered?

Injectors and CP3 options cover LML 2011-2016, LMM 2007.5-2010, LBZ 2006-2007, LLY 2004.5-2005, LB7 2001-2004. Install Kits And Lines include options for LML 2011-2016 and LB7 2001-2004.

What Is The Difference Between StockPlus And Premium Injectors?

StockPlus and Premium are different performance levels within our BD-Built injector options. Choose based on your goals for power and how you use the truck.

Do I Need New Fuel Lines When Replacing Injectors?

If lines are rusty, damaged, or removed during service, replacing them is the right move. Our zinc-plated lines are designed for corrosion resistance and exact fit.

What Is Included In The Install Kits And Lines Section?

Options include comprehensive injector install kits and OEM-spec components designed for durability, fit, and easier installation. Always confirm what is included on the specific product you choose.

Why Upgrade To A CP3 Conversion Kit On An LML?

CP3 conversion kits are designed to replace the CP4 with a more reliable CP3 option. CP4 failure can contaminate the fuel system, and repairs can be extremely expensive.
